Type A injection runs simultaneous 800 - 850cc injectors (there abouts), not sure if Type B ran equal sized primary and secondary injectors but I would expect the volume to be about the same. 650cc sounds a bit lean. The manual I have refers to intercooled models having type c, WTF? Never heard it ...

Most USB plugs have two empty holes on the top side of the plug, the underside holes are covered by the internal plastic. If you can see that your onto a winner.

If your fuel pump was failing you would never achieve black smoke from the exhaust. Keep in mind that poor ignition firing will result in excess fuel from intermittent spark/combustion i.e. black smoke. I am guessing your pump and injectors are OK. I'm not quite sure exactly how the coil is triggere...
