Re: Running temperature (coolant)

Imo starions have a fairly marginal cooling system, it doesn't take much loss in Efficiency to cause issues. I'd be checking the following: *Make sure you have a working thermostat that has the right opening temperature range. *Get the radiator rod cleaned if it hasn't been done recently. *Make sure...

Re: Source for valve set 4G63T SOHC

Got answer from the official dealer here that the valves are discontinued. What are the routes availables to get a valve set for our 4G63T 8v SOHC engine? I guess those listed as 4G63T 6-bolt ones are not compatible since those are for DOHC 16V heads... but I'm not mechanic expert so I would like t...

Re: Questions about lightweight pulleys for 4G63T

Anyone tried those "high compression"/E85 sets @ 10,5:1 in a 8v-motor? Yes, I cant' remember the exact ratio you end up with when fitted to a starion engine but I think it was 8:6 to 1. They need to be fly cut to clear both valves, as well as chamfered on the edges of the raised crown to ...

Re: HEAD GASKET

I've used a permaseal brand mls on my JA. It is to suit the vr4-/evo 1-3 twin cam so it does need a few coolant holes to be enlarged.

Re: 82/83 service manual

All U.S. Starions were fitted with the 4G54 engine . So if you are looking at service manuals in that market you should bear that in mind.

Re: GSR-V gearbox issues

Hi Benatic. I've never tackled this job before as when I had a similar issue I managed to find a good used gearbox.
But I do believe replacement syncros are available and there is a good rebuild thread on the starquest forum. http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/inde ... pic=148661
