as in that one mate ? I read that the block has to be pretty close to square to run them, it was decked but could be a little out now, (will be check with a straight edge) are head studs a good investment at the same time

Yep thats it... how come it's a little out? Overheated? Over tension? if no to those then MLS is still the go...besides... if a MLS doesn't seal... nothing will.

it has blown a head gasket twice now, due to tunning, it will be dyno'ed before it is driven this time was just thinking it could be a little out cause of that, both times has been compression into the crank case

Due to tuning? Get a new tuner. Where did it blow? same place both times? If so it needs to be machined. Have you used ARP Studs?

G'day

ARP Head studs are great - best thing I did to the car. I only use normal Head gaskets but since I fitted the ARPs I have not blown the gasket and I run 30 psi in my daily. Also when I over boost or bring the boost on too hard it will blow. But then again I do have a few spare head gaskets at all times in the shed.

I just thinking but is your turbo releasing pressure when it gets too high?
Like is your waste gate working properly?

gasket blowing may be your 'fuse'

Hard to believe the sohc is so crappy that a typical 'composite' gasket won't seal up on a good tune
Or could be tired old fatigued oem head bolts reused several times ?

I run 30 psi in my daily

is that sohc ? what turbo, camshaft and fuel type ? Should be a rush

It was only running 7-10 psi boost, it's running a wolf, and it has never been tuned right, was pinging at one stage, so I might go the mls head gasket and head studs, do you torequest them to the same number

Send me your map to have a look at. I will cast an eye over it. I will be down it Tassie in February so will have a better look then. The Wolf is fantastic... unfortunately there aren't to many tuners that have worked with the Wolf. What do you have? V4, V4+, V4x, V500, V550. Please don't tell me you have a V3. :beer

Orange car ran a Durapro Graphite head gasket on 20psi 287rwhp and never had a problem. Still on the car to this day. Stock head studs too. It pays to have the block and head decked when you rebuild them!
Parts for sale (+freight), fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), all mechanical work from stock to performance builds.
